Small Felonies Fifty Short Mystery Stories edition by Bill Pronzini Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

This is a collection of short stories by Bill Pronzini, alone or with collaborators, with the common theme of the commission of some crime. The crime is typically, but not always murder, and the settings, moods, and other particulars vary considerably. Some are.
classic "whodunits", some are frankly scary, some very odd, others quite conventional, some are funny. And all are short and tightly written - which is more than half the fun for the reader. The entire collection was written over a span of many years, so some of the narrative may seem dated to some 21st century readers, which is why I gave it four stars - but this is really a very minor failing. As entertaining, clever writing, it's easily a "five".

Small Felonies Fifty Short Mystery Stories edition by Bill Pronzini Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

An interesting collection of short stories by a noted mystery writer. Some have been included in "best of ..." anthologies, most have not. Very good reading.
Real short stories can read in a 15 minutes or less but its perfect to read when time is limited
I love all Bill Pronzini books the short stories are nice because you can read in such a short time
This was the perfect mystery anthology for me. First of all, Bill Pronzini is my favorite author and secondly, all of the stories were truly short stories that kept you guessing the outcome until the very end. Being able to capture and keep the reader's interest is the true essence of the genre.
I've always enjoyed short stories by Bill Pronzini, and I appreciated this new collection very much. Perfect for someone like me who is a regular rider of public transportation - easy to finish one or two per commute leg, and his stories are always engaging. Well-formatted for the kindle.
If you love mystery short stories and I do, this is a not to miss collection. How does he do this? Not all are puzzlers, but you wont be disappointed, you will be more than pleased. There are a number of standouts, but with the vast array of plots, you will find your own favorites.

Cop Shop
These stories span a great deal of time and run the gamut of what is broadly termed "mystery stories". You'll find some hard boiled tales, some cops & robbers, some semi procedurals, etc. What really ties it all together is that they're all winning stories from a great master wordsmith, Bill Pronzini.
While he's written many fine novels, sometimes you just want a short story to pass a few minutes. Perhaps a bedtime tale to relax before you sleep. Maybe something to read while waiting for an appointment. These are perfect little bite-sized stories & the only caveat I can offer is that they tend to be like those potato chips - you can't read just one!
