Enjoyed the characters and am looking forward to reading more about Lorielie and her future in San Francisco. Will Ava find her? More importantly, will Lorielie survive being away from her family and blood bond? Can't wait to find out!!!!!

I enjoyed the book. The suspense kept you reading and as with any of the V.C. Andrews series, this one lives up to her writing expectations.
V.C Andrews ghost writer is nothing compared to her.

What happened? This book had no real plot, the writing was horrible and NOT what I expected. Do NOT waste your effort in reading, as it was painful to read the whole book (I have to finish all books started). Please to NOT published a third! Time to move on ghostwriter!
I have not read V.C. Andrews in a while so when I saw a new series related to Vampires I had to check it out.
Main person is Loeilie and well you feel sorry for at first then she just kept whinning throught the next 15 chapters. I am thinking okay so her father is a Vampire and she is his adopted daughter and she is afraid of upsetting him and his sister/housekeeper.
Well it went much deeper than that the Vampire Father is brainwashing his adopted daughters into brining home some unsuspecting guy for Daddy to snack on. Okay I get all of this it's just this character is not a strong woman she is weak and lives with constant self doubt. Maybe in book two she will grow a real backbone and stand up for herself. Oh, wait she runs away before she can stand up to father. Who get this gets his daughter preganat to die in child birth to continue having the babies grow up and bring home dinner. Trully sick stuff but its VC Andrews so it has to be twisted in some ways.
Different for sure.
Looking forward to the next novel in this series. I give daughter of darkness book one 4 Star's. I'm hoping book two explains why she has more humanity then her sister's.
I read previous reviews and was skeptical. I have read all of VC Andrews books and was not sure about the science-fiction aspect of this one. This book is great! It is different than her other books but is still just as interesting and keeps you anticipating what will happen next! Can't wait to read the second novel!
